Horse Riding in the heart of the Highlands.

We are animal lovers at Cairngorm Bothies and welcome horses to stay because our surroundings are perfect for quality riding. Don’t worry if you don’t have your own horse as there are Equestrian centres in the area.

Glen Tanar Equestrian Centre

Aberdeenshire is well known for horse riding because the landscape conditions are ideal for riding. Cairngorm Bothies are happy to recommend nearby Glen Tanar Equestrian centre which offers one or two hour rides round the loch, through woodland and along mountain tracks. The Centre is highly regarded for their wide range of horses and friendly staff. If you’re an experienced rider then you will learn some exciting hacks or for the beginners there are gentle and easy tracks.
