How To Find Cairngorm Bothies
Cairngorm Bothies
Logie Coldstone, Aboyne, Nr Ballater,
Aberdeenshire AB34 5PZ
Tel: +44 (0) 1339 289 103
Getting here – From Aberdeen
To reach Cairngorm Bothies, travel along the North Deeside Road and proceed through Banchory, Kincardine O’Neil, Aboyne and on to Dinnet. Between Aboyne and Dinnet you will see a sign with two inscriptions on two rocks, that are entering both the Cairngorms and the Highlands of Scotland.
As you enter Dinnet you will encounter the first of three brown tourist road signs which will help you find Cairngorm Bothies. After that it is simple, right turn at Dinnet (sign posted Huntly, Logie Coldstone and the The Lecht Ski Centre) here you will find another brown tourist sign pointing to Cairngorm Lodges 4 miles (the Bothies are located in the area known as Raebush and is nearby) approx 3.5 miles from this junction.
Head towards Logie Coldstone. 1 mile before the village, there is a signpost for Raebush to the left, turn off at this junction, and proceed 0.5 mile whereupon you will come across a set of bins on the right and a signpost on a birch tree saying Cairngorm Bothies. Progress down the road into the forest and the 12 Bothies are on the right starting with Scots Pine Bothy and ending with Beekeepers Bothy.
All the Bothies have their names on nearby trees to their bothy location alongside their individual roadside car parking space. So simply drive to your Bothy and take steps through the forest to your Bothy. Unless otherwise agreed with us, you can check-in any time after 3 pm and checkout is by 10 am on the morning of your departure.
