Celebrate Squirrel Appreciation Day with us!

This year, we are doing something a little bit different to mark Squirrel Appreciation Day (January 21st). Instead of just sharing our favourite photos of our acrobatic neighbours, we want to hear from you.

We’ve teamed up with our sister site, Cairngorm Lodges, to launch an exclusive Reel Caption Competition. This is your chance to win a free 2-night retreat for up to four people, tucked deep within our ancient Scots pine forest.

How to Join the Fun

The competition is taking place over on the Cairngorm Lodges Facebook Page. To enter, you’ll need to watch our special “Squirrel Appreciation” reel and put your creative hat on to write the perfect caption.

The Prize: A 2-night stay for up to 4 people at your choice of either Cairngorm Bothies or Cairngorm Lodges. (Yes, our dog-friendly properties are included, though a small pet fee applies!)

How to Enter:

1. Visit the competition Reel on the Cairngorm Lodges Facebook Page

2. React and Share the video.

3. Comment with your creative caption—just make sure you include the words: red squirrel, forest, and either Cairngorm Bothies or Cairngorm Lodges.

The forest is a vital home for our native red squirrels, and we can’t wait to see how you celebrate them in your entries!
