At our Cairngorm Bothies Doors Open day, Dr Gordon Drummond will be welcoming visitors to a walk & talk “Behind the scenes” tour of the Bothies. Learn about our sustainable tourism offering at Cairngorm Bothies. Our 12 Off-grid bothies are situated within our 100 year old Scots Pine Forest on the Blelack Estate.
Our Doors Open Day starts from 12.30 – 4.00pm
“Walk & Talk” Tour with Dr Gordon Drummond meet at 12.45 for starting at 1pm. Approx 90mins
We will be showcasing our bothies and how we use the solar farm to power the electricity that pumps the natural spring, and powers each of the 12 Bothies.
This Doors Open Days theme celebrates the European Heritage Days festivities and the shared annual theme, Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections. So it seemed appropriate to include our soft launch of the Cairngorms Excursions Biking Route.
Last year we also launched our first Geocaching trail across the Cairngorm Bothies and sister site Cairngorm Lodges. Due to its popularity with our guests we will be launching a further 6 along the walks & trails through the Blelack Estate.
Please come prepared for all weather and bring a picnic for your self or the wildlife if you choose.
Visitors can arrive from 12 and enjoy our forest setting from our available picnic & rest spots at our Bothies. More details can be found Here
